Pamela Brown (born November 29, 1983) is an American journalist and television news anchor currently serving as the Senior Washington Correspondent for CNN. She previously worked as a White House correspondent and anchor for CNN, as well as a news reporter and anchor for various local TV stations.
Brown was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and is the daughter of former Kentucky Governor John Y. Brown Jr. and former Miss America Phyllis George. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Broadcast Journalism.
Throughout her career, Brown has covered major news events including the 2016 presidential election, the Boston Marathon bombing, and the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting. She has also interviewed numerous political figures, including former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Brown has received several awards for her journalistic work, including an Emmy Award for her coverage of the Boston Marathon bombing, and a Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism.
